The FMB World Tour Continues to Heat Up in Europe

June 23, 2023

It’s already been a big month in Europe and we’re only halfway through June with Crankworx Innsbruck Slopestyle, Natural Games, and Red Bull Roof Ride set to round out the calendar before the FMB World Tour takes to Canada.

Last weekend’s Horsefeathers Iron Town Session in Czechia saw Patricia Druwen and David Godziek take home the gold medal from the course that has been described as “straight from a video game” with its industrial setting. Rounding out the podiums were Alma Wiggberg and Robin Goomes on the women’s side and Jake Atkinson and Jakub Hejl from the men’s competition.

With four first place finishes to her name already this year, the German 16-year-old is currently atop both the Women’s World Tour and Red Bull Rookie Women’s Rankings. On how she feels about her leading position, Druwen shared that she never puts herself under pressure and instead just tries to ride and have fun. The competition at Horsefeathers Iron Town Session saw her do exactly that with a winning run on the industrial style course that allowed her to play in a completely different setting.

Druwen is set to partake in the Women’s Slopestyle Session after some of the world’s best drop in on the Crankworx Innsbruck Slopestyle course for the third stop of the Crankworx FMBA Slopestyle World Championship (SWC). With Emil Johansson having already secured two wins this season, making for 11 total Crankworx Slopestyle gold medals, a third Triple Crown of Slopestyle is on the line, in addition to the possibility of beating Brandon Semenuk’s record and becoming the winningest Slopestyle athlete in Crankworx history.

Hot on his heels out of Crankworx Cairns Slopestyle was David Godziek who attempted a world’s first cash-roll (360 front flip) windshield wiper (tail-whip to tail whip back). While he came up short with his back tire barely sliding out from beneath him, the Polish rider is set to drop in right before the Swede makes a run at the history books. Tune into Red Bull TV to watch the event live on June 24 at 12:30pm CEST.

A quick turnaround will see many of those same riders make the short trip to Poland for the return of Red Bull Roof Ride after a two-year break. With local heroes Szymon and David Godziek, as well as Crankworx FMBA SWC frequenters Tom Isted and Torquato Testa on the start list, the event is set to once again bring the stoke. Catch the final 12 drop in from the roof of the International Conference Centre in Katowice on Red Bull TV this July 1 at 3pm CEST.
