As the only big mountain event of this season, the Chatel Mountain Style (FRA) showed some big action in the French Alps. Already at the Red Bull Rampage last year, current FMB World Champion Cam Zink (USA) showed that the relentless rocks of big mountain riding are just his thing and in Chatel he was able to prove it once again with a first place that earned him tenth place in the overall FMB World Tour ranking.

Antoine Bizet (FRA) impressed judges and spectators with a solid performance that landed him a surprising second place and allowed him to take home one of the coveted wild cards for the Red Bull District Ride. Kurt Sorge (CAN) came in third, climbing steadily up the overall ranking ladder. After the third Gold Event of this season, Brandon Semenuk (CAN) was able to take over first place in the overall ranking by placing ahead of Sam Pilgrim (GBR) in Chatel. Yannick Granieri was pushed back to third, since he did not take part in the Chatel Mountain Style. However, Semenuk‚s lead is paper-thin and a mere 8 points separate first from second place. An exciting battle between the top ranks is to be expected!
