Mountain bike Slopestyle debuted last weekend at X Games Munich -- for the first time the worlds best slopestyle riders gathered in Munich's Olypmiapark for the first FMB World Tour Diamond event of the 2013 season. The Olympic Hill was flooded with spectactors, fans and supporters. High winds kept the riders on the starting tower for longer than expected but once it died down the athletes absolutely sent it.
After a 2 run format final it was Brett Rheeder who came out victorious, ahead of his fellow Canadian rival Brandon Semenuk, for whom X Games Munich was the first competition of the season. As Brett flew down the course he was ticking off each obstacle with super technical tricks like front flip barspins, flipwhips and an incredible 360 from the massive final drop.
Despite X Games Munich being Brandon's first competition of the season, he still managed to place ahead of wild Spaniard Andreu Lacondeguy, who came in third. Brandon demonstrated to everyone that he is still amongst the best riders in the world.
Andreu Lacondeguy is used to big air jumps but this demanding Slopestyle course was a new level for him and he faced it head on -- laying down a dialed, fast run and earning enough points for that last spot on the podium.
