The leader of the FMB World Tour changed many times over the season, but it is Brandon Semenuk, the 'Canadian Machine' who takes his second consecutive FMB World Tour title, followed closely by the Swedish Specialized rider Martin Soderstrom in second and the young talent - Thomas 'La Fritte' Genon rounding off in third.
Brandon in true Semenuk style was solid and consistent throughout the year -- his top six results, which awarded him the golden Camelbak Better Bottle were: Jumpship, Chatel Mountain Style, Crankworx Les 2 Alpes, Claymore Challenge, Colorado Freeride Festival and Bearclaw Invitational - all of which were consecutive 1st place finishes!
Martin Soderstrom, disappointed that he was unable to take advantage of his chance to secure the title at Red Bull Rampage, he still managed to finish 2nd overall - his first overall podium rank. Martin has dominated the podium throughout the year, his contributing event results were: FISE (2nd), 26TRIX (2nd), Crankworx Les 2 Alps (3rd), Claymore Challenge (3rd), Colorado Freeride Festival (2nd), Red Bull Joyride (2nd).
Thomas Genon became a superstar this year climbing from 13thto 3rd overall since 2011. His top results were: FISE (4th), 26TRIX (1st), Dakine Airstrike (1st), Claymore Challenge (5th), Colorado Freeride Festival (7th), Red Bull Joryride (1st). His array of tricks and fluid riding style scores big with the judges -- so keep an eye on this young talent.
Apart from the podium, other experienced riders finished in the top ten -- all of which had highlights and epic moments throughout the year. Unfortunate injuries or just bad luck kept them from climbing even higher - but no matter which rider you support the most, all of them showed amazing riding skills and massive progression this year. The level of sportsmanship amongst them shows their professionalism and commitment to the tour and freeride mountain biking.
Big congratulations to the top ten riders and a thank you to all the followers and fans who supported the athletes throughout the season!
