Crankworx Les 2 Alpes was the first stop on the FMB Diamond Series, so the pressure was on for everyone to perform at their best. All the top athletes were invited to come give it their all to boost their world ranking position and become the early leader of the FMB Diamond Series. Crankworx Les 2 Alpes left you on the edge of your seat: if you missed the action, watch the replay LIVE here.
Epic moments by photographer Ale di Lullo:
The big Claw mid extension on a massive super-man seat grab.
The course proved very difficult for many of the top athletes. This years’ Crankworx L2A featured the first ever open loop at a FMB World Tour event. Many of the athletes had never even hit an open loop, let alone stick it in a competition. Surprisingly, there were many different variations executed on the open loop like a no hander, a barspin and even a can-can.
Peter Henke pulling a no hander out of the open loop. Once the athlete came out of the open loop, it was time to pedal hard for the road gap and the bigger features down below.
Cam Zink floating a backflip over the road gap.
Brandon Semenuk off the whale tail before, in a very non-Semenuk fashion, crashing on the last jump. The defending winner (2012 & 2013) left the door wide open for a new champion.
Anthony Messere landing the run of his life and took home the win of his career at the first ever FMB Diamond Series event in Crankworx Les 2 Alpes.
Thomas Genon came in a close second with very technical run, well deserving a podium.
Sam Reynolds was so stoked on landing in third after his first run; so happy in fact he didn’t even feel the need to head back up for a second.
Podium shot of Anthony Messere (CAN) 1st, Thomas Genon (BEL) 2nd, and Sam Reynolds (GBR) 3rd
