Happy Birthday Darren Berrecloth!
Darren celebrated his 30thbirthday on October 31st; to honor the special occasion we turned this newsletter into a Bearclaw special edition.
With his 30 years Darren is now one of the veterans in the FMB World Tour and one of the trailblazers of Freeride Mountain Biking. Due to his experience as a rider as well as an event organizer, he is also a valued member of the FMBA advisory board.
In the following interview he answered some questions about the development and future of the sport, we added some personal questions and prodded him about hitting the big 30. Stay tuned and read on for Darrens answers.
Application process for new FMB World Tour events has started
The Freeride Mountain Bike Association (FMBA) has just successfully finished its second season and is already in full preparation for 2012. For next year, the league will continue pursuing the goal of gathering the finest riders at the prime spots for the best events under the roof of the FMB World Tour.
Red Bull Rampage – voices & opinions
2012 will see the Rampage return to the Utah desert. Riders are free to choose their own line, combining downhill and slopestyle skills to create epic runs. That's what makes this event so special; each run is different, creative, steep and full of insane hits and drops, earning it the often-cited unofficial title "mother of all freeride events".
